About Me

I am 41 years old, and have been painting for 11 years. I am very well known in the Lake District, I paint in acrylics and I am self-taught. I paint mainly landscapes, and my inspiration comes from the beauty and colour around where I live.

Why I started Painting

My great grandfather painted angels and cherubs on church ceilings, so my artistic flare comes from him! Where did my inspiration come from? On the day of Lady Diana's funeral I was so upset I felt like i needed to distract myself, I then found myself purchasing paints from my local art shop. I painted a picture that I copied from my friends house, an old photograph. When I took it to be framed, the local artist forum noticed my work and were very impressed. They asked me to exhibit in the local church, which in the Lakes is very well known. Since then I have never looked back.

I have put together this small gallery of my most recent work to share with you, which will expand over the continuing months.
